We’ve reached our total of £21,477!!!
Thank you so much to everyone. We’ve raised an incredible amount of money in an unbelievably short time.
And it means Anna has her snapdragon wheelchair!
We’ve been in Cambridge this weekend collecting Anna’s loan chair. This is for her to use until her own one is built.
A combination of steroids, the long journey, remains of a fractured femur and lots of new people meant Anna wasn’t really at her best for a large part of the day. However she finally started to enjoy herself in her new chair, especially once she realised she could give her brother and cousins a ride on the back. .
On Saturday we tested it out by getting the bus into Cambridge, going out for lunch and then some shopping. Anna is already fantastic at going forward. Reversing is still a little bit more difficult but people were both impressed at her control and understanding about her running over their feet.
And just now, we are in an AA pick up truck being driven home. We finally broke down 4 hours after leaving Cambridge, having only made it 100 miles. It’s going to be a long night.
Great news about the new chair. Get ready with the touch up paint for all those bashed door frames!
Best,

Thank goodness for the AA!
I was worried as it snowing in Edinburgh so I am glad you are being chauffered home
The comment “wasn’t really at her best” concerns me!
all in all I am glad you have survived the weekend.

A very welcome post. I knew you would make the best possible use of your time in the AA truck. Well done on your fundraising and managing to get to Cambridge with Anna and Nathan to get the Snapdragon. Anna’s life will never be the same again. Lovely to hear that she was laughing giving Nathan a ride on her chair yesterday. Safe journey, hope you are home soon.
Oh what fabulous news. That is just WONDERFUL.
Ann Marie – your strength amazes me!
I cannot believe that you are on a pick up truck just now and you just added that in as a “one liner at the end”.
Hope you managed to get some sleep and that you have a quiet day tomorrow in which to recover.
Sending you much love and hugs and wishing you a safe journey.

Brilliant new wheels !
I hope you got back Ok. My parents’ cars used to break down any time they were asked to cover long distances. My brother always loved going home in a tow truck. I hope Nathan got something out of it! Good luck to Anna with perfecting her reversing skills. x
Great news about the snapdragon and sorry to hear about the hassle with the car breaking down.
Brilliant news about Anna’s new chair. Finlay came home from nursery telling us all about it, so nice to see all the kids excited for Anna.
what great news!! (Not the break down and the pick up truck obviously…!) but just knowing Anna will be able to do more of the things she wants to do more of the time. Look forward to pics of her charging about !
