Well done, Nathan. For more than 3 weeks, he has coped with all the disruption that comes with Anna being in hospital. We are very lucky to have lots of friends and family helping, who will take him in early in the morning so Peter can get to work or I can get to the hospital, pick him up after school, give him tea etc., as well as others who help by being with Anna in the hospital. It is hard for him and there are some days when he doesn’t know exactly who will be picking him up and where he will be going until the end of the school day. He copes extremely well even though he is only 6 years old.
We try and keep his routine as normal as possible but it is difficult for him. And he misses Anna (however much he denies it!). She certainly misses him. He is the only person who can always make her laugh.
Yet during all of this, he manages to get a Pupil of the Month award. What a superstar!!!
Anna was allowed home on Wednesday, as planned. I have been enjoying the luxury of waking at home every morning, knowing both my children are in the house, not rushing to and from the hospital each day and generally just being grateful that Anna has survived another tough battle.
Well done Nathan and the rest of you.
Another Maths star in the family. Well done Nathan. x
He truly is a little shining star. Well done Nathan. I hope you get a long spell of waking at home Anne Marie.
