We are having a wonderful time. Having been stuck in the hospital or house for the last 6 months, with our new-found freedom, we have been out and about. You have all worked out that the longer I take to put up a new post, the better is Anna’s health. She has been infection free for over 8 weeks now (amazing!) and not neutropenic. So we’ve taken the opportunity to travel (but always near a hospital).
Nathan wanted to go to Loch Ness so myself, Anna and Nathan headed up to Fort Augustus, stayed in a hotel for a couple of nights and went out on a boat to find the monster. Nathan and Anna loved it. We took Anna’s power chair (for inside) and her manual one for outside. What an amazing time we had!
And did we find the monster…?
of course!
Nathan, Anna and I also spent a week in the CCLASP cottage. There are so many amazing charities out there willing to help in so many ways. The CCLASP cottage is the most fantastically equipped cottage in the beautiful village of Muthil in Perthshire. It has a cupboard full of games for children, a wii, playstation, x box, pool table, etc. It would of course have been better if had not rained non stop but we still had fun. Grandma (Veronica) and aunt Mary with nieces Katrine and Lotte and the children just all had an amazing time. I love seeing Anna actively playing with others now she can move in her power chair.
It is wonderful to be out and about but Anna does still need full time care in every way. We are seeing signs that she is getting stronger – she was able to pull apart a dough ball in pizza express last week. It sounds like a small thing but this is something she has never, ever managed to do before.
Delighted to see Anna doing so well. Looks like you all had a great time. (Presumably you have already considered selling your photo of Nessie to the papers for a huge sum of money?)
